K2 has the highest fatality rate of any 8,000-meter peak: one in every four who summit does not return. That is not hyperbole — it is the statistics. There is no gentle commercial route, no pre-fixed rope highway — every line on this mountain is exposed mixed ice and rock, with avalanches, rockfall, and storms that arrive without warning. In January 2021, ten Nepali mountain guides shattered the last great barrier, completing K2's first-ever winter ascent. At the summit, they sang the Nepali national anthem — and the entire mountaineering world wept. The Mountains family inherits that same purity: not for visibility, but for the mountain itself. Every summit you reach deserves to be recorded well. The hardest mountain is the one most worth climbing.
